Mapperton House highlights and reflections tour with the Earl and Countess of Sandwich
Come onboard with the Earl and Countess of Sandwich for a whirlwind tour of Mapperton House. We start outside the Jacobean front, before heading into the Hall, the Drawing Room and lastly the Dining Room. Learn about the changes the Earl and Countess have made to the house as well as reflections on living at Mapperton over the past thirty years.
Mapperton is a glorious sandstone manor house and romantic valley garden deep in a lost Dorset combe among tumbling hills and unspoiled countryside.
Mapperton was first built in the 1540s and is known as Nation's Finest Manor House (voted by Country Life Magazine).
We are usually open to the public but the Gouse is currently closed due to the COVID crisis.
However we are delighted to bring you live tours of the house & gardens with the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, hosted by Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke.
Julie is also host of the Smithsonian Channel series 'An American Aristocrat's Guide to Great Estates'.
